My Top 5 Ideas for Holiday Travel 2019

European Christmas Markets

Number 1

A river cruise with stops at the European Christmas markets as well as other must see holiday traditions. Imagine walking through the outdoor markets with the smell of hot mulled wine and fresh baked goodies hanging in the air. The markets in December should be on everyone’s must do list and a river cruise aboard an Ama Waterways ship is just the way to see it. Not only will you be able to experience the markets but other Christmas legends like the birthplace of the song Silent Night. In the small town of Oberndorf Austria in 1818 it is believed that Silent Night, the song created by Joseph Mohr and Franz Gruber, was first performed in public. Imaging visiting this historic place sometime around Christmas with the snow gently falling and hearing the iconic song being sung in it’s native language of German. These are just a couple amazing excursions you will have on your Holiday European river cruise.

Number 2

My second holiday travel idea is a Disney Cruise to the Bahamas. What better way to spend the holidays that on a cruise ship surrounded by Disney magic. One of my favorite places to go during the Holiday season is Disneyland. I love all of their creative decorations and food options. Now take that to the next level and include the incredible service you receive on a cruise and you have the perfect place to spend the Holidays. You might even see Santa Claus.

Number 3

How about your own private Villa anywhere in the world but I like this one in Cabo. This picture is of Villa Thunderbird in Pedregal Los Cabos and comes with a private pool with jacuzzi and a fully equipped exercise room. Villa Thunderbird provides spectacular views of the Pacific ocean and the convenience of two kitchens so multiple families can share the Holidays together. When you start to price out these types of accomadations they seem to be expensive but if you are splitting them with two or three families it becomes quite reasonable.

Number 4

A tour to see the Northern lights. You can do this either by escorted motorcoach in Iceland or on a Hurtigruten cruise along the coast of Norway. Iceland is known as the land of fire and ice and near the Holiday season you have the added benefit of seeing the Northern lights. This is the ultimate family vacation where you will see the power of the earth as it is used to bake bread and heat homes in this amazing land of active Volcanoes.

If touring by motorcoach doesn’t intrigue you then maybe you would rather take an expedition cruise along the entire coast of Norway. This is a twelve day astronomy voyage to get unique insight and knowledge about the Arctic sky and the greatest light show on the planet. This voyage should be near the top of your bucket list.

Number 5 or fünf

My last idea for 2019 Holiday travel and certainly not the least is skiing in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area of Germany. This is the merger of three incredible ski mountains in a pristine area of Germany. With three mountains to choose from there is skiing for every ability. If you tire of the endless skiing adventures this area is close to the Neuschwanstein castle and who wouldn’t want to visit this famous castle during the Holidays.
